Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 October, 9.30am – 5.30pm

Belton House is a National Trust property based just outside of Grantham. In 2016, Belton will be hosting a fair to celebrate great Lincolnshire food, drink and crafts, as well as the many gifted craftspeople that make them. We’re looking to gather together these great producers and give them an opportunity to sell their wares and show off what makes them special.

Belton received over 400, 000 visitors from January 2015 – February 2016, and we can expect 2, 500 or more visitors per day to events such as this.

Stallholders – if you produce your own food, drink or crafts that you would like to sell on a stall, please get in touch.

Craftspeople – if you have a skill, from traditional woodturning or making porcelain or glass products, to making delicious bread, cakes, beer or wine that you’d like to showcase at the event, as well as sell your product too, we’d love to hear from you.

FOOD AND DRINK EXPORTERS GET ADVICE ON BUILDING HIGH-PERFORMING

Food and drink exporters have the opportunity to learn the best way to build and manage their international sales networks at an event being run by Roythornes Solicitors and the Food and Drink Exporters Association.

The event, ‘Optimising your international sales network’, will look at the challenges of establishing sales networks abroad and the different ways of achieving this.  It will focus on finding, appointing, managing and motivating distributors and agents, as well as highlighting the key advantages and disadvantages of each as a sales channel.

Nicola Thomas, Director of the Food and Drink Exporters Association said:

“We’re delighted to be running this event as how to find the right partners in overseas markets is something we regularly get asked about by our members.  Many food and drink businesses ‘fall’ into random in-market partnerships rather than strategically select the best-fit distributors or agents.  Not only does this jeopardise commercial export success but can have serious legal implications if things go wrong further down the line.”
Peter Bennett, head of Roythornes Food team said:

“Appointing an overseas distributor or agent is a very important decision to take and we have had to handle a number of cases where exporters have found themselves at the wrong end of large financial penalties because they chose, or walked into, an agreement that wasn’t really suitable for them.  We will explain the key issues to consider before establishing your network.”
