Tiptree World Bread Awards 2016

The Tiptree World Bread Awards with Brook Food are open again – for their fourth year.

The Awards were launched in 2013 to celebrate the nation’s skill and have gone from strength to strength. Britain can now boast some of the finest bread baking in the world, from both traditional craft bakers and also the new artisan bakeries opening up almost weekly.

In 2015 the Awards attracted a stunning 540 entries to the Judging Day at Cathedral Hall, Westminster, where boxes of flatbread, focaccia, baguette and brioche were brought in a steady stream for the close inspection of the judges.

The stellar judging panel includes star of BBC2’s Victorian Bakers John Foster as well as Great British Bake Off names such as Luis Troyano, Frances Quinn and Kimberley Wilson along with a host of other industry legends.

“The Winners’ Harvest Supper at St John’s Hyde Park in October has fast become an important fixture in the bakers’ year,” says Caroline Kenyon, Director of the Awards. “It is a wonderful coming together of judges, Finalists and foodie press to pay tribute to a fantastic industry. After all, we buy 12 million loaves a day in the UK!”

Tiptree, the famous fruit growers and preservers, have been headline sponsor since the Awards’ inception. They were joined last year by Brook Food, the leading oven suppliers to the baking industry, as supporting sponsor. While KitchenAid is sponsor of the Young categories for the talented next generation.

‘The People’s Choice Award’ gives consumers; as well as local chefs, cooks and shoppers, the chance to nominate their favourite local food business which they feel is worthy of an extra-special prize.

Getting votes:

  • Print out the promotion poster that we have designed for you, and display it in your shop window asking customers to vote for you in the People’s Choice Award.
  • Include the People’s Choice online voting link in your next newsletter to customers, and ask them to vote for you before the end of the month, (votes close on ).
